Well - after my wife prodding me, I ended up going to the hospital's urgent care (I couldnt get ahold of my doctor, etc due to being saturday).
It turned out to be 'lateral femoral cutaneous palsy' - which is a pinched nerve in the leg. I've been taking ibuprofen to make the swelling go down, which has reduced the numbness. I still need to schedule a followup with a doctor to be referred to a neurologist for a 'solution'.
Although in my case it is related to CPAP - because of how I sleep putting weird pressure on a nerve, it isnt like a common side effect as far as I can tell.
I think maybe if I could learn to sleep on my side with the mask it might help - but I just always roll on to my back again (without cpap I always sleep on my side, so it's kind of weird).
Oh well - more doctor appointments to follow. Thanks for responding, even if it is only one or two other people it's good to know I'm not completely alone out there.
