central apnea

Posted by Carol Ethridge on February 27, 1999 at 21:17:19:

Is c-pap effective for central apnea? What device is available for the tongue not to fall back into the trachea? My apnea is much worse. I have had surgery, tried c-pap--won't stay in position. I stop breathing every night and my husband wakes me. I have obstructive and central. Are there any effective medications. A few years ago I was given diamox, but it had adverse effects. Any information would be appreciated.
