You will probably get used to the pressure after a short time. CPAP's only go up to a pressure of 20, so you are close to the max. I have a BiPAP because I have higher pressure. The advantage of BiPAP for some people is you can have a lower pressure when you exhale. I don't think I would mind a constant pressure of 24, but they set me up with 24/21. You will get used to the pressure. With a pressure of 18 you may find you get more mask leaks. That seems to be the biggest problem I still have is keeping the mask from leaking.
