Yes, I was first diagnosed with panic disorder, later that was changed to Generalized Anxiety Disorder, then ADD. One of the things about sleep disorders is they can cause a "startled reflex" which looks very much like panic. you awaken with a fast heart beat and smothering sensation. Additionally, if you are really sleep deprived, it's much more difficult to handle lots of life’s situations. My problem was since I was foggy in the head from lack of quality sleep, I wasn’t up to doing projects and would procrastinate. Then when the deadlines approached, I had to cram everything together, which certainly can cause anxiety. Many people are also diagnosed with depression only to later find out it was a sleep disorder.
