I used my CPAP (Remstar Plus, Breeze w/pillows and chin strap) for the first time last night and experienced much the same thing.

I tried experimenting and it seemed to happen more easily if I was flat on my back. Some positions that seemed better were on my side and/or with my chin tucked a bit so my jaw wouldn't open as easily. Also, I have a pretty firm foam pillow that I could push up under my chin. If none of these things work in the long run I guess I'll try the full facemask.
