I don't recall the pages I found the info on, it was almost two years ago. I usually use google as a search engine you might want to search for fibromyalgia AND sleep pattern. The intusion of alpha sleep sounds familiar. I would ask your doc for more reliable info...since mine is old and I can't offer you anything specific.
I agree with the one of the other posters, as I did in my first reply to this subject, that some of the people on that fibro site may suffer from a sleep disorder instead of fibro.
I'd like to say, in addition, that most competant doctors will ask for a sleep study in CFS/fibro cases to 1) see if the pattern exists and 2) rule out a sleep disorder. The sleep pattern can exist in CFS and fibro cases. Other sleep disorders have been known to coexist with fibromyalgia... in the CDC's guidelines for diagnosing CFS, CFS is dismissed if another sleep disorder, such as apnea, exists.
