(1) There is often a residual "smell" within a new mask. I soak the mask in vinegar water and let it air out for a couple of days before using.
(2) These serious headaches are sometimes the product of carbon dioxide problems because the mask is not venting properly. Is your vent open and blowing out the exhalations? Is it possible that your sheets or blankets might be blocking the vent?
