I trimmed mine flush last night after calling Innomed yesterday to ask if it was ok. I was told that it was fine. They referred to the interior "bumbs" as "flashing" and said that trimming them would make it quieter. I am happy to say that it worked great! It is just about silent on exhale but the inhale seemed a bit louder. My wife did not notice the difference on inhale at all so maybe I'm just hearing something through the tubes that I didn't notice before because I was concentrating on the exhale. Everything is relative as they say!
