Flashing is extra material along the side of a manufactured product where the seam is. Sometimes you'll see little paper thin flashing along the seam of a product made of plastic that you can just pick off or scrap off along the seam. The bumps arn't the flashing, but you might find a little flash along the seam.I'm going to guess those bumps are there for a reason, but it didn't seem to hurt any or change anything when I cut mine off, as the size of the holes are the same without the bump on the inside. Has anyone asked the company why the hole needs a bump on the inside? I can see why they would put one on the outside.
