RemStar Auto - Initial Info

Posted by Perry on June 12, 2002 at 19:46:53:

Today I recieved the RemStar Auto for testing, the latest AutoCPAP in the US market. I know that a lot of you have been waiting for some information on it.

It will probably be several weeks before I can post a reasonably full report on how it works. However, here is some prelininary information.

Triggers are: Flow Limitation, Snore, Hypopnea, and Apnea.

Pressure range 4-20 cm H2O.

One item that bears mentioning is that this machine is not set up for patient downloading of the data into your computer. There is no computer cable connection at all. All data is stored on a "Smart Card." You would need a "Smart Card" reader and the software to see any data, and my current understanding is that these items are not currently priced for normal consumer use (Let's hope the prices can be reduced...).

I will be testing it for a while, along with the heated humidifer base/attachment that I also have.

I will let you all know when I know more.

Perry
