Sleep is a major life function and is protected under the ADA. You definitely need legal help. HR folks work for the company and protect its interests. HR folks are there to protect the managers. The ADA requires employers to provide accomodations (things to help them do the job) for people with disabilities. You must always say you have a disability. You must never say you are disabled. Disability can do the job with help (accomodations). Disabled cannot do the job even with accomodations. Do some searches at this site and you will find a lot of info. Be persistant. I recently got short term disability payments approved after going without pay for 7 months. Good luck!
