IF the reason you are waking up is that your nasal passages have swelled in rebellion against the large volume of air being generated by the cpap, then yes, an automatic device which could result in considerably lower initial pressures would be likely to extend the duration of your 'mask-on time'.

I would suggest trial rentals and use of the charting facilites of the machines.
