This is one of the potential problems with the cheaper thermister methods that most sleep labs use.

I was fortuante to have a sleep study with a lab that used a pneumotach to measure breathing flow. Even though it was a nasal mask - they can see indications of mouth breathing that way.

I don't know what will happen if I need another sleep study. I have since moved and do not know what technology is used locally. I can just see them freeking out when I show up with my FF mask.
