Are you on CPAP? If so what pressure?
My apnea is also severe (~110) After being on CPAP (15) for a month or so I was experiencing swollen ankles, breathlessness, an ache under my breastbone, etc. I had an echocardiogram and was diagnosed with secondary Pulmonary Hypertension due to the apnea along with a thickening of the heart wall. According to the cardiologist it should be reversible by using CPAP and getting my apnea under control. After having my CPAP raised to 17 I started experiencing more pain, twinges in my chest, fluttering under my breastbone, major ankle/feet swelling. It was recommended that I change to BIPAP -when I did the pain, swelling, etc has vertially gone away. Basically my heart was working too hard exhaling against the pressure. I don't know if my history helps you at all, but if you are worried I'd check into it... At a recent Apnea workshop in Seattle they said that numbness in your fingers can also be a sign of not getting enough oxygen...
