The walls of your heart can thicken from severe OSA; as your blood pressure increases, your heart bulks up to handle the pressure. It's called hypertensive heart disease and may be reversed with CPAP. Get referred to a cardiologist and ask for an echocardiogram - an ultrasound of your heart. No weird dyes or chemicals, just the very weird sound of your heart squishing blood around. You do not have to wait - a good cardiologist can save your life and probably save you a lot of fear and pain. My RDI was 94 and my CPAP pressure is set at 14. The cardiologist was the doctor who convinced me to start using CPAP.
