Thank you for the clarification! I have never heard of that before. (I think the scientist who coined the phrase must have been trying to impress everyone.) While I have been on CPAP for three weeks, I just today received the written report on my sleep study. Turns out that while I have severe apnea, my oxygen level wasn't too low. While my sleep may have been greatly disturbed, I am hoping that my heart and brain may not have sustained much permanent damage. Thank you for the explanation!
