Good advice, jks. You are right that the pains could be caused by GERD. I have always had gastrointestinal problems, even when I was a baby. I'm going to ask my family doc for a reference to a cardiologist because of my family history with heart trouble, but it is very possible that nothing is really wrong with me. I'll feel better when I know for sure.
