REM rebound?

Posted by Miss Duffy on July 03, 2002 at 18:35:09:

Hi everyone,

I tried a search, but did not find exactly the info I was looking for. I had a bi-pap trial last Friday night (got in early on a cancellation :-)!) The respiratory therapist called me Tuesday to tell me that when the tech hit what turned out to be my pressure of 17/11, I spent 86 out of 108 minutes in REM sleep. She said it was like "someone hit me in the head" I was so still. Is that REM rebound? What would be "normal" for 108 minutes of sleep. I think the bi-pap is going to work well. I feel a little batter after only one night!
Thanks in advance for any answers!

Karen :-)
