Yes, I would say that Apnea is serious. Before treatment, I was a mess - falling asleep constantly and unable to concentrate. The snoring was wakening me 57 times and hour which meant that I had VERY LITTLE sleep, even though I was unaware of the arousals (sp?). Since being treated with CPAP at a pressure of 16, I have stopped being sleepy, my blood pressure has dropped, my migraines have gone away, I have not had any more fender-benders, my cholesteral has dropped, I have lost 60 pounds and I can't begin to count all of the other dangerous symptoms which have simply disappeared. I'm sure that others can give much more specific comments about the dangers of Apnea.
