Humidifier for use in Europe-HELP !

Posted by Jim C on July 07, 2002 at 13:37:50:

I just got a FP HC-150 stand-alone humidifier to use with my Bi-Pap machine. I am leaving for Europe next week. As best I can tell there is no way I can use this humidifier. It is a 115V, 60hz device. Europe is 220v, 50hz. A converter can't be used at it will step down the voltage but not change the cycles from 60 to 50. In addition, converters can't be used for more than an hour at max. All I have read has said my humidifier will burn out if used in Europe, no matter what I do. I have used the search feature but no one has said how they got around this problem or if any company makes a dual voltage, dual cycle standalone humidifier. Can anyone help?? I guess I'll have to leave the CPAP machine at home.
