"I seem to take it off in my sleep for no apparent reason" - OK, but the reason(s) may become clear with thought and review of your detailed sleep log (yes - you do keep a sleep log, don't you?).
Try these lines of inquiry:
- signs of stuffy nose (in- and exhalation require effort, and dry mouth)
- wife reports continuing snoring or/and mouth breathing
- evaporative cooling of your skin where leaks that are wetted by rainout occur
- leaks into your eyes
- skin sores that evidence poor mask fit
- use of a deep soft headpillow, which tends to rub a mask off when you side sleep [be very suspicous if you keeping finding the mask off on the same side]
- failure to route the main hose such that it dangles freely over your headpillow and cannot tug on your mask

If you want to test the role of nasal congestion, just use any of the many Afrin-like nonprescription decongestants. If two sprays both sides before bed turn you nose into a windtunnel, you've got congestion. But these oxymetazoline hydrochloride 0.05% must not be used for more than 3-4 nights in succession, so get a prescribed nasal spray if it is clear that congestion is part of the picture.
