Well, I have spent several hours on the phone with Fisher & Paykel, Resprionics, and a dealer in electric conversion devices. F&P says their HC150 humififier need a minimum of a 300 watt transformer to operate safely. This is a huge transformer and not suitable to travel. Called Respironics and they have a new model (H2) that is universal voltage. They are apparently the only major manufacturer making one, which is just a bit incredible since the BiPap machines are almost all univeral voltage. My DME was just flabbergasted and is taking the F&P HC150 back and getting me an Respironics H2. I still will need an adaptor but that's the least of the problem. Thanks to all, and hope the information I have helps others. If you plan to travel overseas and have a standalone humidifier, be sure you get one that is universal voltage. They are VERY hard to find.
