Fed up with this CPAP business!

Posted by sleepyinuk on July 08, 2002 at 17:27:16:

I had been using CPAP for about a year now and have been OK with the Resmed CPAP and Ultra mirage mask. Recently I got a new seal for the mask but I just cannot get comfortable with it now! Either the mask is so tight that is marks the bridge of my nose, or its leaking every time I move. I ssem to have to lie perfectly still on my back so avoid leaks. I keep waking up in the night because of leaks. I cant understand why I am suddenly having these problems after so long of relative comfort. I live in the UK and I get my CPAP and masks free from the hosiptal which is a big bonus, but they only supply the Ultra mirage so I cant try different ones. I wonder whther I need new headgear? how long does the headgear usually last before it looses its elasticity? I would really welcome any advice as I cant imagine having to put up wwwith this for the rest of my life, its just too depressing
