I'm not meaning to discourage people about CPAP. It's the most effective treatment around for OSA- without a doubt. When I refer to mild OSA I'm refering to the AHI or RDI number that people are given- the number of events per hour (Mild being between 5-30 by consensus at the moment). The problem is that people with high AHI can have no symptoms and people like you with low AHI can have very serious problems. So classifing people by AHI isn't as helpful as we'd all like it to be. You are precisely the sort of person I'm trying to help. The person with mild AHI 5-30 but who is having serious health and safety issues because of their apnoea. The trick is to find some sort of way of telling who will benefit the most (ie people like you) rather than just giving CPAP to everybody who comes in our doors.
