I'm trying to resolve the some of the same questions myself on the Remstar Auto, with little luck herein. So, I called Respironics and asked what user accessable data is available w/o special software, etc. The rep said nothing - not a thing.

Evidently, the user cannot see the min/max, no of apneas, or anything for that matter. In order to see the smart card data, you must first buy the Encore Pro software and the cable, which might require an adaptor to fit your computer.

In contrast to the other auto's out there, this lack of access to basic data is rather irritating to say the least. Myself for someone who never recognized any apneas and just completed a sleep study and was diagnosed as severe, I wonder how I would ever know to alert my Dr. of issues.

In other words, I figure to make an apples comparison, you have to add another $150 to $200 to the price of the already expensive Remstar Auto to have the same basic user data access others I believe provide.
