The information I received from my DME was not very clear. I am on Medicare with supplementary coverage. My DME told me the only way Medicare would cover a machine was on a rental basis. After 15 months I could take possession of the machine, or could leave it on a maintenance contract. Not sure of the costs on these options. They recommended keeping them on a maintenance basis. It would cost $60 every 6 months, and they would keep the machine running or replace it. So I elected the latter. My understanding is that Medicare would cover the 6 months maintenance fee.
