Posted by momofmany on July 19, 2002 at 05:42:51:Dh was diagnosed with apnea over two years ago, only under my motivation to do SOMETHING. He has the CPAP with nasal cannula (since the mask will not adhere with facial hair)
It's supposedly working, but he is horrid. Is apnea able to alter a person's personality? His personality and temperament allow for depression and lack of coping skills already, and I believe the apnea is playing a part in that. He tosses and turns, takes off the mask in partial sleep (then I hit him to put it back on) I have to stay up all night and babysit him. This is killing me. He is having trouble driving to and from work (30mi) What the bloody heck can I do? You all KNOW men won't go to the doctor unless dragged by a Mack truck. I honestly believe depression is involved here, but he (and I) are of the mindset to avoid drugs for that (serious reactions) I am due in three weeks and can't keep staying up all night and still get through labor. Then he will tell me how hard he worked to have this baby! ARGH!!!
How are the rest of us supposed to survive?
