1. If he's been using CPAP for two years -- or even six months -- I don't think he should still be falling asleep driving 30 miles to work. I think something is not working here. He needs to check with whatever doctor is monitoring his sleep problem.
2. The heated humidifier attaches to or is part of the CPAP and adds moisture only to the air going directly into the nose. It does not add humidity to the room. Usually the constant stream of pressurized air is very drying and irritating to the nasal passages.
3. Momofmany (and I also am a Mom), you cannot keep babysitting husband and also parent your child(ren) and take care of yourself. He needs to take responsibility for his own health. Maybe separate bedrooms for awhile? I don't know; it's a real tough call, but I know you and baby need him able to be a fully functioning human being.
Forgive me if I seem out of line, but after many years of caretaking and counseling, I agree with the therapist who said, "Oh, the things we women do that keep our men from growing up." And I was a splendid example.
