I think your wife has a point. For most folks, six hours a night isn't enough. Just because you got away with it for a while doesn't mean you can get away with it forever. You may just be building up sleep debt that has now caught up with you. Or maybe you're just older (or more stressed, or less fit, or whatever) and can't get keep doing it anymore.

Wny not try getting 7 or 8 for a while and see if it helps?

I'd be real groggy if I only got 6 hours a night for a month or more.
