I agree with getting him back to the doctor for a pressure check. Tell the doctor about every problem he is having. Is he using nose pillows? I don't think that would interefere with facial hair.

A heated humidifier can be hooked up to the CPAP, making the air he breathes more soothing to the airway. Maybe he takes the mask off because this nose is dry and stuffed up from no moisture! For insurance purposes, get the doctor to recommend it, and get one off the web. Once he has this, the room can be kept cooler. A cooler room will help everyone sleep better too.

Could be his lack of motivation and mood are being effected by apnea that is not being treated effectively enough. I do hope that this will do the trick for you, and you can concentrate on just one child! :)
