Titration

Posted by RC on August 08, 2002 at 08:35:52:

The doctor and sleep center I went to for my sleep test did not even raise the subject of titration. After my test my doctor just issued a CPAP machine to me and set the pressure at 8. The doctor implied that I could adjust myself a little if I wanted. How important is the formal titration? Is the pressure something us users can experiment with on our own to try to optimize results? I am sure insurance plays a role in this. What are other people's experience with the expense of titration visits?
