AHI/RAI: How low should they be?

Posted by Rebecca on August 08, 2002 at 09:33:06:

Hi. I'm being treated for mild apnea with an oral appliance which according to my latest sleep study has reduced my apnea from an RAI of 30.51 to 11.28 and my AHI from 10.1 to 6.6. I'm definitely feeling better than I was prior to treatment, but I am still pretty tired. I was just wondering at what point people generally start feeling better...like how low these numbers should be to be considered an acceptable level of improvement. I know it's pretty subjective, and even my doctor said it's up to me whether to pursue further treatment, but I was just wondering what those numbers have been for other people and at what point people felt like their apnea had improved enough. Thanks.
