Profile Lite blowing on shoulder

Posted by Hate CPAP on August 08, 2002 at 10:53:08:

Hi everybody, I've been on CPAP for just over a year. The majority of that time I used a full face mask due to nose problems. However I just changed insurance, and managed to get a new prescription from the doctor for a new mask. I decided to try a nasal mask. I looked at all the pictures and thought the Profile lite was "cute". Got it home, and aside from a few sores that it caused, (seems that I get sores whenever I try a new mask until the face gets used to it) the exhaust port is blowing the air directly at my shoulder. Has anybody come up with a work-around for that? I am a stomach/side sleeper and it seems that whatever I do, the air keeps blowing at the shoulder. (Not too good for arthur! - you know arthur-itis)

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I wouldn't have made it with CPAP for this long without the support of this forum!

Thanks
