Some people say an AHI of 5.0 is 'significant', while others say it has to be 10.0

I used an autoPAP for a few weeks, recording how I felt before downloading the info from the machine. I was still sleepy at points on days after a night when the AHI was above 5, but bright-eyed and bushy-tailed when it was around 2.0 the night before.

It really depends on how you feel. If you have been getting enough hours of sleep, then you shouldn't feel sleepy.

Did either study say anything about positional apnea? If you apnea is below 5.0 in a certain position (probably on your side or on your stomach), it may be worth the effort to train yourself to sleep in that postition. Everybody is different and your AHI just might be higher on your side or back, but probably not. Find out what your study said first.
