Nasal pillows can be a little louder because of th eexhalation hole. Also mouth breathing is noisy as well. Another alternative to the pillows is either a ComfortSelect mask by respironics or an UltraMirage by ResMed. Both of these masks use a much wider pad accross the forehead making it much more comfortable.
