When I had my diagnostic sleep study I slept for about 4 hours initially - or at least I thought I was sleeping. The tech came in at about 2AM and plopped a CPAP on my face. They then titrated me for the remainder of the night, finally reaching 16cm at about 4:30AM and I was well served by this pressure. Many of us have these sorts of testing - diagnosis and titration - at the same "sleeping" as it were. Might this have happened to you? Usually the professionals don't set up a CPAP with a specific pressure without some sort of titration, which is often found during the second half of your sleep center visit.
