Hi Peter,
I know this post was addressed to Perry but thought I would answer it since he has not as yet. I use Azmacort. The generic name is : triamcinolone acetonide. It is a steroid preparation used to decrease the lung inflammation you have with asthma. The other one I use is Atrovent. The generic name for that is ipratropium bromide. It helps control the bronchial spasms associated with asthma and helps to keep the lungs "open". Your Dr. will be able to determine what is the best medication for you. Each person is different and what is needed for one person to treat their asthma is not necessarily the best treatment for some one else.
