Tnx Cindy,

I found Atrovent in the Swedish FASS (which all doctors use to find info about available drugs). There are powder, liquid, aerosol and nosespray variants. Which one are you using?

No luck finding any information about Azmacort or triamcinolone acetonice. Do you know the exact name and spelling of its working substance?

There are hundreds drugs that aren't listed in the Swedish FASS. Most doctors doesn't know that. If I need any of these I must have "exact" details about them, otherwise they simple say "I can't help you".

I have an allergy that blooms up sometimes and I then need to use a drug for it. I can't go to an ordinary doctor to get a prescription because it's not in the FASS. It's been available here for decades but they don't know that. I have to bring all info with me and ask them to call a main pharmacolog in town to get my prescription. That is one of the reasons it took years to get help with my food allergy. I have learned to be well prepared.

Of course it's up to doctors to decide what drugs you need or don't need, but if the basic idea of a problem is unknown to the doctor, you need at least to give them the idea. I think the system is a bit different here than in the states. In this town you normally have to wait up to six months and more to get an appointment with a specialist. And only your "standard" doctor can send you there. I you can't convince him/her you're out of luck.

My personal experience is that you have to be healthy to have the energy to get the help you need. That sentence started as a joke once, but I'm not so sure anymore.

Tnx again for the info.
