I'm not a big fan of home testing. If its home testing where the tech comes, hooks you up, and stays all night, its not very cost effective (1 tech per patient versus 2 patients in the sleep center). There are also issues (here in the US at least) with bonding, sexual harrasement, firearms, alcohol, etc.

If its the home test where a tech comes and hooks you up, then leaves, there are issues with loss of signals from sensors falling off, etc., repeat tests, etc.

UARS and RERA's are usually measures by using esophageal pressure. A water filled tube is placed through the nose into the esophagus. Changes in upper airway pressure are transmitted in the esophagus, changing the pressure on the water filled tube. This is called Pes. I don't know of anywhere that's doing Pes studies at home.
