sleep disorder and anxiety disorder in children

Posted by steph on October 18, 1999 at 18:41:55:

My 6 year old daughter has sensory integration disorder.
One of the fallouts from that is sleep.. Her body can't get into a deep sleep and she's always waking up (and waking us up because of her true anxiety disorder: she can't bear to be in her room alone.) She's chronically sleep deprived. It takes two hours to get her to fall asleep enough so we can sneak out of the room and then she still wakes up thruout the night... even when we're sleeping with her.
Her daytime behavior is understandably bad considering the lack of stage 4 sleep. She's tried numerous medications and combinations of medicines. nothing is working.
Her doctors are all trying to find the right solution but so far nothing.
