3-yr old cries every hour in her sleep

Posted by Beanne Bakken on February 22, 2000 at 10:20:26:

I have 3 year old girl (4 in June) who for the past weeks cries out in her sleep. If we let her fuss for a few minutes the crying typically gets louder until someone is forced to check on her. She is not awake and it doesn't resemble night terrors which typically only happen once in a while. It doesn't matter whether or not her covers are on. She had chronic ear infections and has tubes. The crying usually starts around 12:30 a.m. and lasts most of the night until 4 or 5 a.m. She goes to bed well and has a regular bedtime and routine. We've tried everything we can right now and wonder if we should seek professional advice. Any suggestions are welcome.
