It is interesting reading others experiences with night terrors and reassuring that we are not the only worried parents. We have just moved to Brazil with our children. My 8 year old son started sleepwalking occassionally just a few months ago. (I am also a sleepwalker, so it was not a great concern to me.) But 2 weeks ago he started with night terrors combined with the sleepwalking. It was quite frightening to see - especially one night when he was crying and wimpering in the hallway and then slammed his hands on our bedroom door. Since then I have been trying to find out if there is anything disturbing him at school, with the children in the neighborhood, fear of the new country, culture, language etc. It doesn't seem to be any of this. But it does seem to be the bedroom he is in. He is scared to be on his own. I put him in with his sister a week ago and since then, no sleep terrors!! But, one day soon, he needs to go back into his own room. We are going to have to approach this carefully.
