ADD can be a symptom of a sleep disorder, not just sleep apnea. Any sleep disorder that disrupts sleep will cause the problem. Children act out when sleepy. Adults just get sleepy and fall asleep.

Can't point you to any specific paper but about 60% of all ADD children are misdiagnosed and if their sleep disorder is treated the symptoms go away.

Can't find good papers at the moment.

Make a video of you child sleeping and you will probably find out what the problem is if she has a sleep disorder. Take the tape to the doctor.
