New studies show that kids your age need an average of 9.25 hours of sleep per night. The problem is complicated by the fact that during the teen years, you don't produce much melatonin which regulates your "clock" and tells you that you are tired/sleepy at a decent bedtime. So, you stay up late, then have to get up early because school starts so darned early in the morning, and it a vicious circle! The use of a full spectrum light box for about a half-hour each morning can help change your "clock" and ultimately make it easier to rise in the morning, and will help to make you sleepy at night. And that in turn would make you go to bed earlier so instead of getting only 6 hours sleep per night, you would get more. See how that works? Six just isn't enough! Good luck.
