Boy, our kids do have alot of similarities! This
stuff with his sleeping/behavior all seemed to start around the time he was 2 1/2.

Saw the sleep doc this a.m. She said his airway was narrow and the tonsils are enlarged but not grossly enlarged. She agreed with me that there's something going on while he sleeps and she thinks it may very well be the tonsils/adnoids/sinus thing coming in to play. Even though he went to bed at 8:00 and actually slept until 6:45 today (was up at 4 a.m. banging on the walls!), the doc noticed that his appearance "looked" tired. I thought he actually looked better today than from most other days!

I am so thankful that our insurance doesn't require referrals or I would be pulling my hair out right now just to have gotten to see a specialist. Like I said before, all the pediatricians in the past, didn't have much to say and weren't really concerned with my observations.

He is on Zyrtec for allergies and are waiting until he gets a bit older before testing. He does seem to have more nasal congestion in spring/fall.
It is funny, but once you really stop and start paying close close attention to your children, you start noticing alot of different things! He does seem to sit with his mouth hanging open while watching tv or playing a game. Never much really noticed it before.

Anyway, the sleep study is set for the week of
June 18. Isn't too far off. We live in a western suburb of Chicago and just to see a sleep doc for pediatrics at Children's Memorial would've put us at the end of September!!!! There aren't too many pediatric sleep specialists around are there???

Again, I can not thank you enough for taking the time to chat with me and share your experience. I feel like you do... I am just adamant when it comes to this issue of sleep/behavior. Oh, I did have an appt with the ENT, but cancelled until after I saw the sleep doc.
