Please, ask for a referral to a sleep clinic! My son went through that sort of insomnia, and now that we know what is wrong, it almost never happens. Mark my words, there is somethign wrong, and the best way to find out what it is is with a sleep study. My son had normal eeg's too. at 2 1/2 he was often up until 1 am and back up at 5 or 6 without napping when the problem was the worst. There are treatable problems,but you've got to get the right test. I really think that is the best place to start. Good luck and God bless. Monica
