The family bed really worked for us. We did not plan it but that first night home with our baby girl we could not leave her all alone in the bassinet. Around her third birthday she stated quite definitively that she was sleeping in her own room that night and that was it. Wow! The opportunity for her to choose the timing of this transition was so empowering!!!
