Our son slept through the night for the first time 2 months ago and with the exception of two nights has been sleeping through ever since. He is now 6 years old.

He has always had a regular bedtime routine which included at least a half hour of reading before bedtime and hasn't knapped since age three. He is very pleased with himself as we would tell him often that we were a little grumpy or too tired to play at times because we were so tired.

He is a very restless sleeper and would go through periods of leg pains at night as well. I believe the main reason he is sleeping through the night is because he is no longer so frightened to be by himself in a room. He plays on his own all of a sudden and will go up stairs by himself to get a toy on his own.

We are very happy, but it has taken me two months to stop waking up evry so often myself. After six years of being woken up, I would wake up, look around and go back to sleep.
