Well, not quite the same, but my son was always an early riser (5- 530 am) and early to bed. We just had to adjust to that schedule and it gradually got later as he got older.

Most importantly is: is he getting adequate sleep? If not, then he'll need to learn to go back to sleep. Is it the early morning light possibly?

the only suggestion I have is to teach him some relaxation and sleep techniques for children. It may help him to doze or go back to sleep until later in the morning. Also try setting up some rules for allowable activities until the 'rise hour'. That is, for instance, until 6 am, no tv, stay in room, etc, etc. so that it's boring to be up that early. Or try timed night wakings if possible. If he always gets up at 430, try waking him at about 400 slightly and then allowing him to go back to sleep; it may break the cycle.

hope this helps.
