my son's central apnea

hello i have a lil boy born 7 weeks early in full arrest and was in nicu for 3 weeks and no other problems until i brought him home and he started turning blue and went into respirtory arrest they kept sending him home until he almost died one night and did test and found out he had central apnea...and has had it since he was 6 weeks old and seems the older(now 14 months) he gets the more hes getting doc's say this shouldn't be happening at this age be that they are not real apnea..unless they are over 20 seconds and he turns blue but books i read say anything over 10 sec is apnea my son has anywhere from 10 -23 second apnea everynight 3-6 a night when he was only haveing 5 - 6 a month anyone who can give me advise please do. he goes to hospital 18th for mri and if nothing show doc say he may take him off machine but what happens if he stops breathing and i don't wake up please help me very scraed single mom
